I’M A CHRISTIAN, A WIFE, A MOM, A LIFE & RELATIONSHIP COACH, AN ENTREPRENEUR, AND A CONTENT CREATOR.

As someone who wears multiple hats, how do you prioritize self-care in your daily routine, many of your followers look up to you for inspiration. What advice can you offer them about incorporating self-care into their busy lives?

Being Intentional. If you don’t prioritize self-care, you’ll never have the time to. I make sure to get up before my family and start with my spiritual regimen. I like to take a shower and wear something cozy. In the evening, I ensure my children go to bed before me. You won’t always be motivated. You need to be disciplined. Discipline is born from becoming intentional.

You decided to leave legal practice to nurture your two babies. Many women would love to take this path without feeling guilty. How did you get here, and how have you navigated this?

Actually, I left legal practice before even getting married and went into media. I then transitioned from mainstream media to social media and later evolved into coaching and even went back to school. It needs to be a gradual process before having kids. You need to consider it and have a plan if you choose that path. Having a supportive spouse who understands the importance of nurturing family is crucial. You also need to do something extra beyond solely taking care of kids. Find your extra gifts, hobbies, skills, and capitalize on those.

With kids in the picture, how do you prioritize self-care?

My kids are not an excuse to neglect my self-care. They follow routines religiously, so we all have time for ourselves.

For couples in long-distance relationships, what advice do you have to keep things hot and spicy?

Long-distance relationships thrive on friendship. Friendship gives emotional intimacy, and that’s the highest form of ‘spicy’ there is. A lot of people have physical intimacy, but outside the bedroom, they are empty. Without the bedroom, they wouldn’t be together. So, don’t focus on what you don’t have (the physical); focus on what you have (emotional) and enjoy the journey before the final destination.

What’s your favorite thing to wear to bed?

SOMETHING LIGHT, SMOOTH AND COMFORTABLE.

Do you have any favorite books, podcasts, or resources that have helped you on your self-care journey?

The Bible. Not even a cliché, but the truth.

How do you handle self-care guilt, which some mothers and working professionals experience when taking time for themselves?

Why would you feel guilty for bettering yourself? Do you not love you enough? My life revolves around filling my cup first. My work revolves around filling up others, so God forbid I’m empty while pouring out.

What does getting a good night’s sleep mean to you?

A lot. I sleep 8 hours yet wake up by 3 am. I do not compromise on my sleep routine.
